18. Since writing the above, my attention has
been drawn to C.0.0.185 of 26th, July, 1895, forwarding copy of
*
extract from War Office Letter of 11th. February, 1895, HongKong,
5/4754.I submit that that letter contains nothing on which
the Military Authorities can base a claim to Gun Club Hill
being within a Military Reserve.
The words other than those included in the
"broken green line on enclosed tracing* refer to then existing
Military Reserves within the broken green line, but do not
mean that all land within that line is a Military Reserve.
In all maps of Kowloon in possession of the
Director of Public Works supplied by the Military Authorities,
War Department property and War Department Reserves are in-
variably distinctively coloured and in none of these maps
does Gun Club Hill appear either as Military Property or Mili-
tary Reserve.
